CREAF is seeking a proactive and well-organised Academic Talent & Gender Technician to support the coordination and implementation of activities linked to the SEVERO OCHOA project, with ref. CEX2023-001340-S, funded by Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades and Agencia Estatal de Investigación.

You will join a small and dynamic team dedicated to promoting a positive research culture and supporting researcher development and wellbeing. The office drives initiatives related to research careers, research assessment, talent attraction, and the enhancement of academic supervision. It also works to build a fairer and more inclusive research environment, where equity, diversity, and inclusion are central values.

This role is well suited for someone who has pursued an academic career and wishes to transition from research to research management, leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired during their research experience. It is also suitable for someone passionate about understanding and nurturing human potential and wellbeing, who enjoys structured work, operational problem-solving, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders in a research environment. The position focuses on technical, organizational and operational tasks that support the effective coordination and delivery of institutional programs and activities.

A full-time contract (37.5 hours/week) is offered, with a planned start date in May 2026. The position will last at least until March 2028, with possible extension subject to funding. The offered salary is between €30.034,32 gross per year (corresponding to category A4B) and €33.162,89 gross per year (corresponding to category A4A).

MAIN FUNCTIONS:

  • Working closely with CREAF’s Academic Talent & Gender Officer, you will contribute to initiatives related to:

  • Support initiatives promoting a fairer research culture and researcher wellbeing.

  • Provide technical and organizational support for the implementation and monitoring of CREAF’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) plan, including its renewal, as well as for gender equality training, awareness campaigns and the monitoring of CREAF’s harassment protocol.

  • Support for the coordination and logistics of researcher training activities, with a focus on transferable skills.

  • Technical support in career development activities for predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers, including Career Week, Career Retreat, and institutional mentoring / peer mentoring programs.

  • Engagement with and support for the predoctoral and postdoctoral community.

  • Preparation of documents, materials and internal communications.

  • Data collection, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Collaboration with other research management offices, such as Human Resources, Pre-award and Communication.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree, preferably in life/environmental sciences.

  • Demonstrable experience working in an academic or research institution, either as research staff or in research management.

  • Languages: fluency in Catalan and/or Spanish; good command of English for drafting documents, interacting in meetings, and supporting events (demonstrable).

  • Experience and/or training in gender equality and diversity topics in research or other contexts.

  • Experience planning/delivering career development activities, such as training, mentoring programs, or workshops.

  • Experience coordinating activities and events.

  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with researchers and/or diverse groups of people.

  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, proactivity and time management.

  • Reliability and trustworthiness.
