CREAF is seeking a field technician for working in the EARTHWATCH project (“Wildlife in the Changing Andorran Pyrenees”, with ref 27565 and funded by the European Commission.
A part-time contract is offered (26,5h per week) for 7 months with a planned incorporation in April. The salary offered is €17,941.05 gross per year (corresponding to category T4A).
TASKS:
The selected person will have to participate in the Earthwatch expeditions as a lead field technician, with the following main tasks:
- Organising all field work (including activities and presentations)
- Lead field sampling campaigns
- Prepare all the material pre-expeditions and organise all data and material after the expeditions
- Take care of the well-being of international volunteers
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master or a PhD thesis in fields related to Ecology.
- High level of spoken English.
- Good level of Catalan.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Bird ringing certificate (valid in Andorra).
- Driving licence.
- Experience in small mammals CMR.
- Experience in citizen science projects.
- Proved experience working with international volunteers in scientific projects (better in Earthwatch Expeditions).
- Field campaigns include a lot of hiking in a mountain environment, so a medium-to-high fitness level is required.
ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS:
- Previous work at CREAF
- A medium level of R (RStudio)
- Working independently but in constant coordination with a team.
- Good level of Catalan, written and spoken.
- Candidates with a certified disability of 33% or more will be prioritized, provided the disability is compatible with the position's responsibilities.
