CREAF is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work in the CARDIMED (Climate Adaptation and Resilience Demonstrated In the MEDiterranean region) with ref. 101112731 and funded by the European Commission (Horizon Europe programme under the Adaptation to Climate Change Mission) and PLUGES project with ref. 90018, and funded by Departament de Territori, Habitatge i Transició Ecològica.
A part-time contract (27 hours/week) is offered with planned incorporation ASAP, with a duration of 18 months that could be extended up to mid-year more if budget allows. The offered salary is €23,502.31 gross per year (corresponding to category I4)
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
- Measurement of soil enzymes involved in N, P, C and S cycling.
- Management of soil biology and water laboratory.
- Measurement of soil water-soluble ionic content.
- Measurement of soil CLPP by MicroRespTM.
- Manuscript writing. The incumbent is expected to participate in the writing of manuscripts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in Environmental Sciences or similar.
- Experience in high throughput fluorometric assay for the determination of soil enzymatic activity.
- Experience in laboratory analysis of soil and water.
- Experience in ionic chromatography.
- Experience in assays for the determination of soil microbial functional diversity ( MicroRespTM).
- Experience in soil DNA and RNA extraction and qPCR for the quantification of functional genes.
- Experience in identification of soil health indicators for monitory plans.
- Ability to write manuscripts in English.
- Driver’s licence.
