CREAF is seeking a research technician to work on the CARDIMED project Climate Adaptation and Resilience Demonstrated In the MEDiterranean region) with ref. 101112731 and funded by the European Commission (Horizon Europe programme under the Adaptation to Climate Change Mission).
CARDIMED (Climate Adaptation and Resilience Demonstrated In the MEDiterranean region) is funded by the European Commission (EC) under the HORIZON-MISS-2022-CLIMA-01 call. The project wants to deliver a holistic suite of modelling tools for assessing and providing decision support with regards to Climate Resilience, focusing on Nature-based Solutions applicability for mitigating climate risks. Many multidisciplinary different groups share what they know to make a positive impact and understand how water, energy, food, and ecosystems are connected under a WEFE Nexus perspective. CARDIMED uses technology to make it easier for people to collect and share data about Nature-based Solutions and Climate Resilience.
A part-time contract is offered (18h 45 min per week; 50%), and is likely to start at the beginning of October. It will last at least 4 months, with the possibility of extending it if required and if the budget allows. The offered salary is €11,237.75 gross per year (corresponding to category T5A).
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare soil samples for physical and chemical analysis, including trituration and sieving.
- Cooperate with the CARDIMED team at CREAF in processing soil samples for soil aggregate stability and soil carbon analyses, including fractionation.
- Cooperate with the CARDIMED team at CREAF in processing soil microbial profiling tests.ent recommendations to the local stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BSc in Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Biology or Agronomy or similar.
- Experience in field work and applied soil science.
- A meticulous and responsible character.
- Willingness to collaborate on projects with other team members.
ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS:
- Previous experience in Nature Based Solutions or Land restoration.
- Previous experience in designing/implementing monitoring campaigns
- Candidates with a certified disability of 33% or more will be prioritized, provided the disability is compatible with the position's responsibilities.
SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA:
