RESEARCH TECHNICIAN FOR THE PYRENEES4CLIMA LIFE-SIP PROJECT (ref. 25-025-27860)

CREAF is seeking a research technician for developing some of the CREAF contributions to the PYRENEES4CLIMA project (“Towards a climate resilient cross-border mountain community in the Pyrenees”, ref. 101104957 funded by the European Commission.

A part-time contract is offered (16h per week) for 5.5 months with a planned incorporation as soon as possible. The salary offered is €13.669,37 (corresponding to category T3A) gross per year.


TASKS:

The selected person will have to create a web portal in a DRUPAL environment, including:

  • An interactive map showing biodiversity data collected with citizen science initiatives that share the data with GBIF
  • Basic information about each of the different citizen science initiatives with links to each of them
  • All texts must be in Catalan, French, English, and Spanish.


REQUIREMENTS:

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in web development languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with APIs, especially those related to biodiversity data and to GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility).
  • Expertise with version control with Git.


Content Management:

  • Ability to gather, organize, and present information.
  • Skills in creating and managing multilingual content (Catalan, French, English and Spanish).


Design and User Experience:

  • Expertise in UX/UI.
  • Experience with responsive design.


ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS:

  • Previous work at CREAF.
  • Experience working with frameworks like React or Angular.
  • Experience to create and manage interactive maps.
  • Previous work on biodiversity and ecosystem services indicators.
  • Working independently but in constant coordination with a team.
  • Good level of Catalan, written and spoken.
  • Candidates with a certified disability of 33% or more will be prioritized, provided the disability is compatible with the position's responsibilities.


SELECTION PROCESS AND CRITERIA:
