CREAF is seeking a technical coordinator for scientific activities of the SEVERO OCHOA project, with ref. CEX2023-001340-S, funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033.

The selected person will have a dedication of 60% to coordinating CREAF scientific activities (Action 1.1. of Severo Ochoa program - to promote synergies between researchers and groups within the center) and another 40% to assist the Director in his scientific agenda. A full-time contract is offered (37.5 hours per week) with is planned in April/May 2025, to March 2028 (linked to the actual completion of the project). The salary offered is €32,037.61 gross per year (corresponding to category T3A).


TASKS:

The general responsibility of the technical coordinator will be to dynamize and implement the scientific strategy of CREAF, with a double focus:

Coordination of the CREAF scientific activities

  • Dynamize the scientific activity of CREAF
  • Organize and coordinate the scientific activities planned in the Severo Ochoa project (SG1): including synergistic (A1.1) synthesis (A1.2) and mobility (A1.3) actions
  • Give support to the CREAF’s Commission of Research and Development (CRD) activities.
  • Coordinate the relationships between the CRD and the CEGRA (Commission of Strategy, Research Management and Administration)
  • Coordinate the relationships between the researchers and the main facility coordinators (including the Lab, IT, and EMF coordinators)
  • Coordinate and participate in the development of scientific and technical documents of relevance for the centre.


Support to the Director

  • Give general support to the scientific agenda of the Director (meetings, activities and other)
  • Give assistance to the director in meetings and agreements with external agents.
  • Give assistance to the Director in the scientific development of the main agreements of the centre, and particularly those involving its trustees (Autonomous Government, UB and UAB, CSIC)


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Postgraduate or master's degree in ecology or similar
  • Demonstrable experience in research
  • Demonstrable experience knowledge and technology transfer
  • Demonstrable experience in the organization of scientific and technical events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Catalan and Spanish as native languages. Level C of Catalan or equivalent.


ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS:

  • Doctorate in ecology, preferably in terrestrial ecology, or similar
  • Ability to relate in international environments at a high level and representing CREAF if necessary.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and experience in working with both in-house and external colleagues.
  • Ability to understand specialized scientific and technical aspects.
  • Ability to identify relevant and newsworthy aspects and facts in an evolving organization.
  • Creativity, global outlook, comfortable working as part of a changing work environment.
  • Candidates with a certified disability of 33% or more will be prioritized, provided the disability is compatible with the position's responsibilities.
